Church of the Good Shepherd

The Anglo-Catholic Parish of the Episcopal Diocese Of Upper South Carolina

Christian fellowship

The Church of the Good Shepherd offers several opportunities for parishioners and guests to gather in informal settings for meals and Christian fellowship.

The Young Adults of Good Shepherd (YAGS) is composed of a mix of singles, young married couples and young parents, primarily in their 20s and early 30s, who meet periodically at restaurants and members’ homes.

The Middlers are career-aged adults who gather four to six times a year at parishioners’ homes for drinks and dinner.

The Classics are parishioners who are retired or would like to be; they dine together four to six times a year, usually at a local restaurant but sometimes at the home of a member.

In addition, parishioners of all ages participate in a progressive dinner every spring, beginning with appetizers and dinner in small groups at a half-dozen homes and then coming together for dessert hosted by David Lowrey at the Heritage in downtown Columbia.

In late summer, we gather for a parish picnic hosted by Mark and Stephanie Niemeyer.

And in early December, Cindi Scoppe hosts an Advent cake party, featuring two dozen of her own creations.
