Appalachian Work Trip ... Boone, North Carolina
Appalachian Work Trip is sponsored by Home Works and the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina. Boone is a community in the "Appalachian" area of western North Carolina. Many of its citizens are elderly or have various handicaps that impact on their finanical standing. This work trip is part of an ongoing mission to the people of Appalachia. The mountain scenery is beautiful and there are many opportunities for social interaction with area residents. The work trip is lead by Fr. James F. Lyon of The Church of the Good Shepherd.
